My Journey
I always knew I wanted to work in IT, even though my first dream was actually to become a teacher. At the heart of it, the motivation was the same: I wanted to help people.
When teaching didn’t work out, I found myself at a crossroads. I stayed on to complete my A Levels while I tried to work out what was next, but after a year it became clear that this path wasn’t right for me. That’s when I made the decision to pursue an IT apprenticeship and properly commit to a career I was genuinely passionate about.
In February 2015, I officially started my IT journey. Full of enthusiasm (and probably a bit of naivety), I took on an IT apprenticeship at a secondary school. Despite thinking my school days were well behind me, it turned out to be a brilliant place to learn. After a year, a change in circumstances forced another big decision: continue my Level 4 apprenticeship elsewhere, or step straight into my next IT role with the skills I’d already gained.
In February 2016, I chose to continue with my Level 4 apprenticeship, joining an IT company where I would spend the next 7.5 years of my career. During that time, I progressed from IT apprentice to Technical Solutions Specialist, expanding my skillset from hands‑on support into consulting and solution architecture. That period shaped not only my technical ability, but also how I approach technology, people, and leadership.
In August 2023, my journey took another significant turn when I joined Shine, a childcare and coaching provider, as Head of Technology. This role allowed me to bring together leadership, strategy, and people‑first thinking in a way that truly aligned with my values.
In April 2024, I helped form TeamTech4, a technology company born out of Shine, focused on delivering practical, people‑centred IT solutions to organisations that genuinely care about impact.
Since then, my responsibilities have grown, and I am now Director of the Shine Group, overseeing technology and strategy across Shine, TeamTech4, GoShine, and Shine Franchise.
Today, I’m a technology leader who believes strongly that technology should enable people, not overwhelm them. I’m passionate about innovation, thoughtful planning, and doing things properly. Whether I’m shaping strategy, leading teams, or designing solutions, I focus on delivering work to a high standard and creating positive, lasting impact.
Charity & Community
Giving back has always been important to me, and I actively use my skills to support organisations that make a difference.
In July 2023, I became a Trustee of YMM (Formerly known as Young Minds Matter), a mental health charity. This role allowed me to combine my professional IT experience with my commitment to mental health advocacy, helping the charity operate securely, efficiently, and sustainably. After 3 years in post, I made the decision to step down to focus on community projects closer to home, but stay on as a board advisor to provide an outside perspective with a know how on how the charity functions
In July 2025, I became a Trustee of Pomphrey Hill, a local community sports charity. After initially supporting the organisation as an IT Consultant, it felt incredibly meaningful to take on a leadership role within a charity that has such visible, day‑to‑day impact on the local community. Being involved at a strategic level while still seeing the real‑world outcomes is something I value deeply. In January 2026, I was voted as Vice Chair, which is a great achievement.
