We can also provide opportunities for young people to participate in activities that boost their self-esteem, creativity, and resilience.
- Promote healthy lifestyles. Physical and mental health are closely linked, so we need to encourage young people to take care of their bodies as well as their minds. This means eating well, sleeping enough, exercising regularly, and avoiding substances that can harm their health. We can also help young people to manage stress and cope with negative emotions in healthy ways, such as through mindfulness, relaxation, or hobbies.
- Seek professional help when needed. Sometimes, young people may need more than just support from their family and friends. They may need to see a doctor, a counsellor, or a therapist who can diagnose their condition, prescribe medication if necessary, and provide therapy or counselling. There are many services and organisations that offer mental health support for young people in the UK. We can help young people to access these services and follow their treatment plans.
By following these steps, we can make a difference in the lives of young people who struggle with their mental health. We can help them to overcome their challenges, achieve their goals, and enjoy their lives.
